Municipal District of Greenview No. 16 is committed to supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs in our communities. Greenview aims to advance our local economic goals by encouraging pride in the success and potential of our local businesses by implementing a Beautification Grant.
The program will focus on beautification of Greenview, which will include the following components:
• Restoration of exterior finishes and repainting, including murals;
• Planter, hanging baskets, and garden areas, especially in downtown hamlet settings;
• Repair or replacement of storefront window, patios and doors;
• Exterior lighting of the building and signage;
• Signage on the front of the business location;
• Replacement of awnings and signs;
• New architectural details such as entryways features and cornices;
• Addition of patio areas and permanent landscaping elements; and
• Removal of barriers to access for people with disabilities and mobility challenges.
Overall, this program will allow business owners to receive grant funding and enhance the appearance and impact of their building’s frontage, contribution to the beautification and vibrancy of Greenview as well as providing an economic stimulus.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the Beautification Grant, the following application must be completed and submitted. As well as the following points;
• Must be a small business;
• Must be located within Greenview;
• Must include financial report;
• Holds a valid Greenview Business License; and
• Applicants may re-apply during the program’s operating year, however, new applicants will be given
priority.
There are 2 steams of this program;
• Storefront stream may receive up to 70% of reimbursement up to a maximum of $5000.
• Small Business Stream may receive up to 50% of reimbursement up to a maximum of $5000.
To be eligible for reimbursement, no work is to be preformed until application has been approved, work that has commenced prior to approval will not be eligible for reimbursement.
Deadlines
Applications for the Beautification Grant Program will open the first Monday of March each year and will remain open until grant funding has been allocated.

Applicant Responsibilities
Applicants must annually submit their application, noting which stream the applicant is applying for. As well,
within six (6) months of the application approval the following must be submitted;
• Receipts or invoices associated with the beautification upgrades;
• A description of what improvements were made to the small business; and
• Proof that the upgrades have been completed.
Notice of Collection: The personal information collected is authorized under Section 4(c) of the Protection of Privacy Act and is managed in accordance with the Act. It will be used to process your application and for administrative purposes directly related to the grant for which you are applying. It will be entered into an automated system to generate content, make decisions, recommendations, or predictions.
